except for the 4chan memes this wasn't too bad

I liked the really funny drawings and the way you animated it for the most part it actually kinda amusing.

But it's those 4chan memes in there that kinda ruined this otherwise great movie for me.

The memes themselves are highly overused on this site that any of hint of humor is gone from them.

It's not hard to think up your own stupid things since you clearly did in some spots with your batman movies.

but i can assume you accomplished your goal since you knew that 4chan memes piss other trolls off.

and your goal was to troll other trolls but you can also piss even more people off by saying 4chan sucks.

The whole thing reminds me of those rare actually funny articles on encyclopedia of dramatica.

while it is funny it could be improved upon with a simple purging of 4chan memes.

You can mark this review unhelpful because i hate 4chan but i love this movie much in the same way some people who hate anime love the shit out of akira.

Keep em coming.

4chan cha chan 43V3r

One of the funniest movies i seen on ng in while

You have these nerds screaming internet memes at you while your busy doing something else.
and while your first thoughts are that these nerds are annoying and you have violent fantasies because you want them to shut up as soon as possible.

The voice actor of the internet meme spitting nerd did a great performance and helped enhance the sense that the alien itself was annoyed by the nerd and on a close up i even seen it's anger in it's eyes alone.

The emotion on the nerd spitting out the internet memes could have better captured if you tried to fight back your instinct to ignore the nerds that spit out internet meme in real life.

While these nerds are annoying and it is difficult to pay any attention to them because all your natural instincts tell you to ignore them until they stop but even still you managed to bring in some observations about the most annoying types of nerds.

In closing this movie was hilarious in it's approach and honesty.

Ying-yong responds:

i'm glad you enjoyed it!

while a good menu it can still use more polish

The animation loop within the menu needs to be much longer and you obviously need more options for things like bonus features such as both the standard stuff such as deleted scenes, behind the scenes stuff, trailers, audio commentary and what ever else your imagination will allow.

If your feeling lazy than you can easily change your menu to fit a collection for different silent hill themed movies and you can ask friends or whoever else you can bother to help out.

Don't even be shy about asking popular artists since most of them are nice enough to help out free of charge as long as there not too busy or interested in your project.

Never be shy about asking others for help when you need it or take your time to finish your works on your own.

It don't matter if you finish your works by teaming up with other animators or going alone.

all it matters is that you don't show it off before it's a complete work or otherwise you'll end up ignoring a potentially good project and move on to other projects too soon.

as a complete work it is terrible but as an unfinished work it is extremely strong and has some real potential.

In some strange way i find it interesting to see shelved projects because it shows both the creator of said works ambition and evidential burn out.

This was done several years ago. I gave up then. :P

Odd little movie you got here

This is perhaps one of the strangest movies i ever seen on newgrounds and shows a lot of creative energy.

I personally think the score should be a little higher or at least this piece of work should get much more exposure.

The animated effect of making it look like a video while easy to do adds a subtle touch and does make it look more polished to the average viewer that doesn't even bother with flash.

This can easily work as a game but the fact it's a movie instead makes this piece of work even more interesting perhaps even experimental since it plays with your expectations.

I would be interested in maybe looking into your other works in the near future.

Voodoo responds:

People say a lot of my submissions are strange haha

And thanks, I worked my ass off for that effect, FO REALS

The Master approves and so does the worm

an effective smear campaign and unfortunately everyword of it is the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Alvin earthworm is nothing special in fact he only makes these bellow mediocre sprite movies already done a million times over by much more talented thieves.

There are almost millions of sprite movies done way better than marioballz but it only stands out because it has a strange title rather than it being any good.

Certainly a combo of mario and dragonballz will stand out but it is in noway original or in the least imaginative.

The combination of pre existing copyrighted creative endeavors with already established fanbases insures the success of those shitty movies regardless of quality.

There basically fanfilms but only they actually get sponsored on newgrounds instead a far superior piece of work but i have accepted this as the norm and ussually ignore popular culture for this reason.

Since you find true happiness in actually searching out those better movies with your best effort forward.

The whole collab itself is a great way to piss off the very same fanbase of alvin earthworm.

His fanbase for the most part is the exact opposite of intelligent people just look at there foolish reviews of screams of epic win and other forms of internet speak.

There might be an intelligent fan in there but it is overwhelmed but the babble from the more stupid parts.

Genderless hooker's part was on of many of my personal favorite parts in the entire collab.

I would have compressed the collab's filesize to leave room for many more parts since there is a lot to work with here.

Nothing that i would call great but it was entertaining none the less.

Orangebeef responds:

I agree

This is basically dailytoons under a new name

This is very good and even the small bit of shitty parts were interesting to see in there as well.

I just watched it as a playall button and it worked so well as a collective movie rather than viewing each and everyone of them by themselves.

This is basically a lot like an expermental film to me and to be honest i'm shocked that you all bothered to make anything at all because from what i seen of the ss fourms most of you just sit there and talk at your fourms.

This is quite the ambitious endeavor but i would recommend scraping the intro on episode 2 so that it doesn't end up becoming formulaic.

I've seen past dailytoon seasons reuse the same intro over and over again and frankly it gets a little boring.

I understand all the effort that goes into making it but the reason the dailytoons were so successful and remain successful even now is because it has constant variety and deviant from formulas of what everyone is doing.

You have every right to reuse the intro all you want but in my opinion recycling the same intro no matter how good will change into mediocrity due to predictably.

mediocre is a commonly misused word in a lot of reviews because when i see it applied they really mean your bellow average.

Mediocre just doesn't really work as an insult nor does it work as praise since it is only meeting your audiences expectations.

But this is only an intro and i can take it or leave it but everything else such as the collection of movies actually exceeded my expectations.

I was honestly only expecting a lot of goofy spam but it was actually only a little bit of goofy spam mixed with different types of creations in different styles there was even some photography in there.

I would like to see more people using these dailytoons as a chance to improve there craft such as the different animaters and especially the photographer because while it was beautifully shot footage there is still room for improvements for any kind of craftsmenship.

I would be interested in seeing another mixed bag of flash animation, traditional animation, film, video, digtial, whatever because it gives exposure to talented people but on the down side it gives exposure to talentless hacks as well but you have to take the good with the bad to get the great.

Keep this series going and welcome to the digital revolution baby.

TheStarSyndicate responds:

thanks PRY good advice you gave there

this episode is very similar to dailytoons season 4 but next episode will have an actual focus

Pokemon masters should have been more like this.

The real pokemon master episodes should have been stuff like this rather than excuses to toss 4chan memes around.

It's stupid but it works plan and simple because of the catchy song and humorous drawings in fact a lot of submissions are praised a little too much because of catchy songs and funny drawings but here both the reviews and scores reflect the actual quality of the submission.

Most people don't realize that spam is a genre and that can be just as bad or good as any legit submission.

This in of itself is a spam submission but most of the drawings match the pokemon cartoon itself but with subtle unique touches from the author of the submission himself.

You don't even need to see pokemon masters to see the humor here but it does enhance it making it even funnier.

Pokemon masters should have been stuff like this movies but a series of silly pokemon themed skits that stand out on there own holds more appeal to me than a series of crappy sprite movies.

Hulalaoo, keep em comming.

Hulalaoo responds:

sad to be giving this review because you all rock.

while there was entertainment value here it was clearly rushed and most time trials allow a whole week to make an entertaining short that is likely to pass judgment by itself.

but it was all mostly shitty loops here and these sorta collabs work better as spam submissions than a legitimate effort like this collection you all made here.

while loops can be good for collabs you have to set a limit on how many loops you allow in your collab.

There were a few interesting loops in there such as the parts by tommy, marcy, Flee, chillycheese, Simmon G, and Voodoo but the rest of the parts were terrible with the exception of sucho because his part wasn't a loop.

The whole group all have there own talents and you would do well in trying to muster up as much ambition as possible in not just you but your group as well.

They want the collab to be as successful as you do and sometimes this means separating the truly lazy with the people willing to give you 110%

There is always room for both good and bad movies in any collab in my opinion but without the balance of good and bad parts than some peoples talents don't get nurtured into even better artists.

when the good parts out number the bad parts than the people who people made bad parts may surprise you with there ingenuity the next time you create a collab.

and another thing don't write names on the menu buttons until the actual collab is finished because sometimes people drop out at the last second due to there own laziness when this happens than said person no longer deserve a button in your collab.

as a collab organizer it is sometimes your job to fill in the lost movies roll yourself or look for a substitute.

I look forward to seeing UPwn Time Trails 2# and hope to see the groups talents better nurtured and hope it is not a collab of mostly shitty loops again.

xXxAlecxXx responds:

Well this was a test mostly it took a while to fix the bugs and that's most the effort that went in to this, it was fun but now we have gotten more attention from bigger members on the site like nogfish we will make 2# alot better.

a painfully generic stickfight

This was kinda cool and i noticed a shit loads of effort but i will have to subtract points because this is like a lot of other stick figure fights with a highly unoriginal look to it.

They all look the same and none do anything much else to stand out above each other.

Why can't you do something simple like drawing faces on your sticks to standout above the other literary faceless stickfights?

You put all this time and effort into making a cool as possible of a stick fight and adding facial expressions on your stickmen while might not seem important but why put so much effort into complex things while overlooking simple things like that?

a complex drawing is nothing more than combined simple drawings to make up a certain style or whatever.

If you watch other stickfights often other animators overlook simple details such as a facial expressions but you honestly don't need to blend in with the crowded market of stick fight movies.

Go beyond the typical newgrounders expectations of the whole stick fight genre and you will notice that you will have influence over future stick fight movies due to your own creativity.

Right now you could be a leader instead of a sheep that happened to make a generic stick movie that won a few awards.

There are still however things i liked about this stick fight such as the fact you created your own characters rather than making your sticks the green guy and the blue guy that have no names of there own.

You gave them names and there own weapons but character development was somewhat lacking.

The character development or your characters was lacking but it was a quick fight scene for the sake of distraction so there isn't much to complain about here.

I like the use of unconventional weapons because it shows more imagination than hand to hand, swords or guns.

having one stick use a yo yo to fight another stick brandishing a sword shows signs some imagination.

No much to say about in the terms of storyline for a quick fight scene it has a start, middle and climax much like any other story.

You got somewhat of a loose narrative in there so maybe tighten that narrative up a little bit to explain what started the conflict between the two sticks and so on.

it can even be a crappy story but even the worst of action movies have better stories than hey i don't like you lets fight.

but most of us don't expect much in the way of narrative of either stick fight movies or action movies in general.

You can take or leave my advice but i hope you take it because than you'll make an equally successful movie and have a lot less people bitching about how overrated your next movie is.

Sorry for being so harsh on you but seeing this movie gives me the feeling that you are destined for better things.

-PowerRangerYELLOW

Hyun responds:

Well I don't think of it as an "unoriginal" look. I look at it as a "traditional" one ;D
Sure some stick anims like the castle series have eyes and advanced character development but I really love the original/traditional style of how they're faceless simple stick things, but at the same time are capable of having emotions. Thanks for the thoughtful review though, I shal take it into consideration!

You should have done this from the very start

Right when you guys were doing brawl funnies you missed a chance to insult the reviewers before new ones come in.

while this will likely get the so called critics even more angry. It will not cause the same reaction it would if it was within the actual brawl funnies itself.

The movie itself was actually hilarious but this was not released in a timely manner within the actual brawl funnies collab.

these kids are predictable and you could have easily made fun of them before they even got there stupid little walls of text in.

The fact you didn't make fun of your audience and so called critics within the official collab while you still had the chance to make a parody that stands on it's own rather than a shadow of it's former self.

Metal gear funnies worked because it insulted the work it was spoofing, assaulted the audience a lot more and had something new to say as a satire.

There was plenty of new stuff to bring out to the table.

Brawl funnies kinda sucked because it repeated itself in a way and this is not good for second video game related funnies movie.

I found this to be pretty funny and yes that was a wall of text but i loved this movie and wish to see more stuff like this in the next video game related funnies.

This is not going to piss off as many pissy critics as it could have and for that i subtract points.
